FIS is a co-educational school established, as an essential part of the community infrastructure, for International and Nigerian families. Day and Boarding pupils have no distinction and the school offers an environment without discrimination on the grounds of sex, religion, race or parent’s employment. It is a culturally-rich mosaic serving each student by providing a world-class international education, nurturing potential, developing life-long skills, and preparing students for an ever-changing global community.
Day students either arrive and leave with the School Bus or private transport, from and to Abuja. When they arrive they are part of the school just as the Boarders are.
Students are expected to wear the uniform at all times.
In particular, the wearing of the following is not allowed on the campus:
When the Day Students leave they are expected to follow a similar pattern of completing homework as others in the school. Homework is a natural extension of classroom work. It provides opportunities for developing good study habits, providing for individual differences and abilities and encouraging self-initiative on the part of the students. Parental involvement in a student’s homework is essential. Parents are asked to encourage and monitor homework assignments, but should not do assignments for their child.
